Bridges are like dental crowns except for the fact that a dental crown is fitted as a protection for a single tooth whereas a bridge is used to replace multiple missing teeth. Bridges are mainly fitted with the intent to prevent the teeth around the missing tooth/teeth from moving and thereby changing the structure of the mouth. Like a dental crown, even a bridge may me made of gold or porcelain or a combination of both. And the procedure of fitting a dental bridge takes almost as long as a dental crown.
